Educating the public about Old Sumter District is our mission at the Sumter County Museum. We provide a wide variety of programs for every age from book signings, children’s story time, living history classes, a scholarship program, Carolina Backcountry Days, and tours of the Williams-Brice House, Carolina Backcountry and our NEW Temple Sinai Jewish History Center.

Below you will find a collection of downloadable lesson plans great for teachers before or after a tour of the museum or for anyone who wants to extend their learning experience.

If you would like to schedule a tour of the Williams Brice House, Carolina Backcountry Homestead, and/or, Temple Sinai Jewish History Center, please fill out this form:

Costumed interpreters in the Carolina Backcountry Homestead may be available upon request. School Tours are free, all other tour groups are subject to our regular entry prices, museum members always receive free entry to the Museum.
